Tom Geraghty in Déjà Vu Waterford Rally

Tom Geraghty from Tom Geraghty Tyres in Waterford, was an entrant in the recent Déjà Vu navigation rally in County Waterford.

The rally, which was followed by a dinner and auction of rally memorabilia, raised money for the Dungarvan Hospice and the Craig Breen Foundation.

Geraghty brought out his iconic 1993 Cosworth Escort in the Statoil livery, previously driven by Stephen Murphy, to cover the nine navigation stages.

Plum Tyndall, RPM Productions, Tom Geraghty and David Llewellin, rally driver.

Geraghty is well known locally and internationally for collecting and restoring Ford rally cars and included in his collection is a rare Broadspeed Mark 1 Escort and Robert Droogman’s Belga liveried Belgian Rally Championship Mark 2 Escort.

Many of the stages, centred around Dungarvan and Waterford, were previously used in the Circuit of Ireland rally in the 1980s. The rally was organised by RPM productions headed by Plum Tyndall and Beatty Crawford.

Geraghty was joined in the navigation seat by Bridgestone Ireland’s Colm Conyngham, a lifelong rally fan.

Some rally legends turned out for the event including Billy Coleman and David Llewellin, and they lead the way around the Copper Coast and Monavullagh Mountain stages for the rally.

The charity auction was a huge success with overalls belonging to Craig Breen and Billy Coleman the highlight items.

Bridgestone Ireland also donated a set of tyres for the auction on the night.
