Pirelli partners with prestigious car manufacturers
Pirelli develops its product portfolio in partnership with the most prestigious car manufacturers. These include Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, Pagani and McLaren, as well as Premium car manufacturers such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo.
Such partnerships are fundamental to the Pirelli business model because they give Pirelli broad visibility on the sector’s technological innovations and consumer needs, which then goes into product development before going to market.
Car manufacturers benefit from the joint development process by achieving the perfect match between the tyre and the car’s dynamic characteristics – the “perfect fit”.
Pirelli’s portfolio of High Value homologations stands at over 2,480 with the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and the Porsche Cayenne Coupé among the latest vehicles homologated with Pirelli.
Marked tyres
Original Equipment marked tyres, introduced together with Porsche in the 1980s, are now requested by all top car manufacturers to help customers find the right tyre for their car. For example “F” for Ferrari, “MC” for McLaren and “N” for Porsche.
Every tyre that is distinguished by a specific marking on the sidewall testifies to the joint development work carried out by Pirelli’s engineers alongside their counterparts at each car manufacturer, ensuring that there is a tailor-made Pirelli tyre for just about every high performance car.
This process sums up Pirelli’s ‘perfect fit’ strategy, with every marked tyre delivering exactly the right technical performance to complement the inherent characteristics of the car it is fitted to.
P Zero – A High Performance family
The P Zero family now offers every type of tyre to equip the world’s most sporting and prestigious cars. P Zero, the archetypal high-performance tyre, was first introduced over thirty years ago. The product line has developed to the range we see today: P Zero – the unique Ultra High Performance tyre, P Zero Corsa – extreme performance for the road and track, and the P Zero Trofeo – the road legal track tyre.
