Bridgestone to challenge itself at Northern Ireland Open
Bridgestone is hoping to raise its profile to more than 35,000 fans when it makes its presence felt at the 2016 Northern Ireland Open in Partnership with Tayto and Ulster Bank at Galgorm Castle next week.
The world’s number one tyre and rubber company will be the official tyre supplier at the event from July 28 to 31, which will be the biggest on the PGA Challenge Tour event in 2016.
Bridgestone see its participation as a part of an effort by the company to support emerging golfers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Bridgestone Ireland’s marketing manager Colm Conyngham said: “Bridgestone is involved in golf activities at many levels internationally, we hope this sponsorship of The Northern Ireland Open will be part of an ongoing campaign providing support for new and promising golf talent in this part of the world”.
Now in its fourth year, the Tayto Northern Ireland Open in Partnership with Ulster Bank has become one of the European Challenge Tour’s stand-out events with an all-time attendance record set last year at 39,423 spectators.
Bridgestone decided to embark on a golfing journey with the this impressive Challenge Tour event after a successful foray into the sport in 2015, where a tournament for amateur players in the UK and Ireland yielded great exposure and significant interest in the company’s premium products.
In conjunction with the Charles Hurst Group, Bridgestone will also show off a range of 4×4 tyres, fitted on Jeep Cherokee and Lexus 450h cars, while a number of opportunities to engage with a key audience will also be maximised.
“We have identified huge potential from the world of golf and are extremely excited to be official tyre supplier of the Northern Ireland Open. Galgorm Castle is a stunning location and we are thrilled to be involved with an event here. The exposure and opportunities we will generate from are vast and we can’t wait to see the players tee off,” added Colm Conyngham from Bridgestone.
