Bridgestone Ireland staff clean up sea front
A group of Bridgestone Ireland staff members recently volunteered to make a contribution to the local environment by picking up litter on the Balbriggan beach and sea front roads.
A total of 10 staff members volunteered to be part of a team ensuring litter was removed around the area. Bridgestone has been based in Balbriggan in Co Dublin for almost 30 years and is very much part of the local community.

Fingal County Council provided special refuse sacks to the Bridgestone team that can be placed beside municipal dustbins for collection by their staff. These were enthusiastically filled by the Bridgestone staff members on what was a damp and drizzly day.
According to a local environmentalist, litter on the sea front can denigrate habitats and reduce wildlife and also reduces the tourist potential of the area.
“The Bridgestone action today was very welcome and we hope they can return in the future,” said Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce.
The group was also acknowledged by local residents walking in the area on the day.
“It was great to get an enthusiastic group turning up to complete the task and also it was welcome to get very positive feedback from the local community,” said Colm Conyngham of Bridgestone Ireland, who organised the event.
“All those participating acknowledged the satisfaction of giving something back to the area in which Bridgestone is based,” he added.
Bridgestone has been based in Balbriggan since 1995 with many staff members living in the town.
