Yokohama OE for new BMW M3 and M4

Yokohama is to supply its Advan Sport V107 tyres to BMW as original equipment on the new BMW M3 Sedan and BMW M4 Coupe.

The tyre maker will supply its 275/40ZR18 (103Y) size front tyres and 285/35ZR19 (103Y) size rear tyres. The two new models join the M5 as BMW M models using Yokohama tyres as original equipment.

The Advan Sport V107 is a high-performance tyre in Yokohama’s global flagship Advan brand. The tyres being supplied to BMW M were jointly developed with the automaker and feature a specially developed compound and a tread pattern with the groove area adjusted to achieve superior dry performance and wear resistance.

The tyre also has received the EU labeling system’s highest “A” grade for wet performance.

Its mound profile provides uniform surface contact that further contributes to superior its dry performance and wear resistance. Structurally, the carcass, considered to be the skeletal frame of the tyre, is composed of specially made cords, and the belt has a larger angle than replacement tyres, which tightens the belt’s grip on the carcass. This tyre structure delivers the direct handling and high steering stability essential for high-power premium cars.

The superior performance of this tyre developed especially for new M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe was confirmed through test runs at Nurburgring.

BMW M cars use OE tyres from a select group of tyre makers, and the sidewall of all selected tyres, including the Advan Sport V107, bear BMW’s star mark symbol of approval.
