Vredestein Quatrac 5 declared winner of all-season tyre test
Apollo Tyres’ R&D capabilities were proven once again during the latest four-season tyre test in the size 215/65 R16 by the premier German magazine Auto Bild Allrad.
The latest four-season tyre by Apollo Vredestein was found to ensure optimal safety throughout the year and in all conditions. The Vredestein Quatrac 5 left its competitors trailing and emerged from the test as a clear winner.

A comparative test by the magazine Auto Bild Allrad included the Vredestein Quatrac 5 in the size 215/65 R16 fitted on a compact SUV. The tyre scored excellent results for all safety-relevant components, and its performance on snow was particularly impressive according to the magazine. ‘Outstanding on snow, good grip on dry and wet roads, and a very low rolling resistance’ was the conclusion of the test, and with a score of 2618 N (Newton) on traction on snow ‘it performs almost as good as a true winter tyre’.
Commenting on the test results Dr Seshu Bhagavathula, Chief Technology Officer, Apollo Tyres Ltd, said “These independent test results are a testimony of the enormous amount of research and hundreds of thousands of test kilometres which the company has put into the development of this tyre. Such test results help ensure that the Vredestein Quatrac 5 becomes the benchmark in the four-season segment.”
Vredestein launched its first four-season tyre 20 years ago. The year 2014 saw the arrival of the 5th generation Vredestein Quatrac 5. This tyre not only benefits from company’s more than two decades of expertise in the field of four-season tyres, but also incorporates the technology used in the current generation of summer and winter tyres by Apollo Vredestein. The Vredestein Quatrac 5 is available with the Y speed index, making it suitable for speeds up to 300 km/h (186 mph) and it is a unique speed index in the segment. The Vredestein Quatrac 5 responds to growing demands from the market for four-season tyres and the company even developed a special website for the purpose: quatrac.vredestein.com
