Tests demonstrate quality of Continental tyres

Summer tyres from Continental have won first place and received top ratings in tests this year by European motor magazines, auto clubs and online publications.

The new SportContact 7 was the winner in all of the tests it took part in, for a total of seven published results this year. It was rated “outstanding” or “superior” three times.

The PremiumContact 7 tyre, which is also new, took first place in two of its four tests and got top ratings in two of them. The UltraContact was also a top scorer.

The PremiumContact 6, which continues to be produced because it is specified as original equipment for a number of vehicle manufacturers, was rated “very good” by the magazine auto motor und sport and “good”, the best score given, by the German Automobile Club (ADAC).

So far, tyre comparisons have been published by experts in four European countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK). The SportContact 7, which was introduced last year, already received top ratings from the magazines sport auto (Issue 4/22) and AutoBild (Issue 13/22).

“The numerous very good independent test results show the high development and manufacturing standard of our products,” comments Dr. Boris Mergell, head of research and development at Continental Tires.

“We focus on the safety and environmental properties of our tires. Our summer tyres have mastered all classifications without any problems. This shows the high balance of our current tire portfolio in the areas of driving characteristics and sustainability.”
