The First Stop and Fast Fit networks have joined forces with AXA Insurance for the Hope Christmas Shoe Box Appeal 2013. Fast Fit and First Stop premises around the country are being used as collection points for patrons to drop in their gift for the young vulnerable children in disadvantaged countries. 

Michelin has reinforced its commitment to Ireland during a visit by the manufacturer’s Head of Communications Phil Baldock. Mr Baldock told TyreTrade.ie that the Irish market was important to Michelin, and that it was proud to contribute to the community here.

The Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) is calling an outright ban on the sale and fitment of part worn tyres. The ITIA is poised to make a submission to the Road Safety Authority on the issue of part worn tyres.

Continental has held a ribbon cutting ceremony at its ContiLifeCycle Plant in Hannover-Stöcken. The plant, which is a world’s first, integrates a cutting-edge facility for retreading bus and truck tyres with a proprietary industry-scale rubber recycling unit.
