Nexen targeting Europe for further growth
Nexen Tire Europe’s new €829-million plant was due to open last year and is currently awaiting permission from authorities in the Czech Republic to start trial production at the new plant in Zatec, which is in the north-west of the country toward the German border.

Nexen Tire Europe’s new €829-million tyre plant will open soon in Czech Republic with trial production.
Nexen started building the all-new fully-automated European manufacturing factory in late 2015. It will be the main production base of Nexan Tire in Europe. It plans to produce 12 million units through phased extension plan. The initial production phase of the new plant, producing approximately 15,000 units each day.
Last September, Nexen Tire Europe’s Sales and R&D Centers relocated to a new and expanded headquarters (pictured) in Germany.
With the investment in the new Sales plus Research & Development Centers in Germany in addition to the new European Plant, Nexan Tire Europe plans to strengthen its aftermarket business and to further expand the original equipment (OE) tyre supplies to major European automakers.
The company already supplies OE tyres for leading global car manufacturers in Europe such as Porsche, Fiat, Renault, Volkswagen and its Škoda Auto and Seat units.
