Mitas is a Czech-based manufacturer of off-road agricultural, industrial and motorcycle tyres which began production in the 1930s. The company currently operates three plants in the Czech Republic, one in Serbia and one in Charles City, Iowa. Mitas, which has an extensive international sales and distribution network operating in 14 countries, manufactures and sells tyres under three brand names: Mitas and Cultor, together with Continental under licence. The Czech-based tyre manufacturer, which has an annual turnover of over €385 million (2014) and is one of the top European producers of agricultural and construction equipment tyres, is a member of CGS Holding Group (www.cgs.eu)

Mitas’ core business is in agricultural, industrial and motorcycle sport tyres. In 2014, approximately 70% percent of Mitas’ revenues came from agricultural tyres, 20% from industrial/truck tyres and 5% from motorcycle tyre sales, the balance being accounted for by compounds and other products/services.

The Mitas brand offers a comprehensive range of radial and cross-ply tyres for tractors and trailers together with a wide range of industrial, multipurpose tyres (MPT) and earth-mover tyres (OTR), including tyres for off-road motorcycle and on- road motorcycles. The product range is completed with the aircraft tyre segment. Currently, the majority of all tyres produced by Mitas are delivered to customers in Europe and the company is expanding its global presence.

Mitas is committed to researching and implementing the latest innovations, cooperating with leading agricultural and industrial machinery manufacturers to help them develop tyres tailor-made for their purposes. Its latest innovation, the Mitas PneuTrac, combines the advantages of pneumatic tyres and rubber tracks.

Currently under development, the PneuTrac concept looks very promising, delivering improved traction efficiency with lower slippage, which results in lower operational costs and potentially higher crop yields when compared with standard tyres. PneuTrac also ensures stable driving at low inflation pressures, thus ensuring comfort and safety with no need to adjust inflation pressure.
