Michelin at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

This year journalists can be at the heart of the Goodwood Festival of Speed – wherever they are in the world – thanks to Michelin Media Live.

Michelin’s innovative and interactive site will capture and share real-time information from the largest motoring garden party in the world, giving writers, bloggers and broadcasters unparalleled access to real-time, high-definition, newsworthy and copyright-free content.

Michelin Media Live will include a constantly-updated gallery of high-resolution images from the show as well as exclusive videos and written content – all free to use and as-it-happens.

There will also be films from the Michelin Supercar Paddock, with 360-degree videos of some of the most desirable cars in the world and interviews with motor sport legends carried out by former British Touring Car Champion Tim Harvey.

Calum Hassall, Digital Community Manager for Michelin in the UK, said: “This is an incredibly exciting development for us.
“Michelin operated a similar media hub at the Detroit show this year, and I saw at first hand what a valuable resource it was for journalists.

“We intend to give journalists the content they want, when they want it – and all of it will be mobile-friendly, easily downloadable and free to use.”

News of the media hub comes as Michelin is unveiled as the official tyre partner across the entire Goodwood Estate 2014 motoring calendar.

It will showcase other Festival of Speed highlights, including the unique vehicles on Michelin’s immersive stand, Michelin’s support of the groundbreaking Formula E series, and state-of-the art new products such as the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 and the Michelin Pilot Road 4.

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 is the latest generation of road-legal track tyres designed for ultra-high performance cars.
Its credentials are impeccable, having been selected as original equipment for the Ferrari 458 Speciale, the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

And its capabilities are highlighted further by the Nürburgring lap record set last year by a Spyder fitted with completely standard Pilot Sport Cup 2s.

Goodwood has a proud history of bringing together legendary machinesand riders to celebrate motorcycling history.

This year, Michelin celebrates motorcycling’s future with the launch of the all new Pilot Road 4 range: the Michelin Pilot Road 4, Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT and Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail.

The fact that the GT version has been selected by BMW for its new R 1200 RT – the bestselling bike in its category – speaks volumes about the Pilot Road 4’s performance.

The online address of Michelin’s media hub will be distributed ahead of the opening of the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 26.
