Goodyear wins Auto Express Best Buy Tyre test
Goodyear Tyres has won yet another award from leading automotive magazine, Auto Express. After winning the same award in 2011 with the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, the leading tyre manufacturer has now won the Auto Express Best Buy Tyre Test 2012 with its EfficientGrip.
The test looks at ten different parameters including wet and dry braking, handling, noise, price and straight and curved aquaplaning.
The thorough test highlighted Goodyear’s top performance in aquaplaning and noise. The tyre also performed particularly well on wet handling and braking.
Auto Express Tyre Tester Kim Adams said: “The foundations of Goodyear’s success here were built in the wet tests – it starred in our deep water aquaplaning assessments. And even though we weighted the tests to prevent any unfair advantage, this tyre’s superiority in the wet was clear. The EfficientGrip was way ahead of the rest in the curved aquaplaning test. And as you’d expect from this, it put in a balanced, secure performance on the wet handling track.
“A good all-rounder that proved a star performer in the wet”
Kate Rock, Consumer and Brand PR Manager for Goodyear said: “We are pleased and proud to win yet another Auto Express Award for Best Tyre. Even though the EfficientGrip product we supplied for this test has been in our portfolio for three years, it is still able to outperform new products from the competition which is testament to our research and development teams.
“Winning awards such as this places our products above the rest and highlights the top performance we offer as a brand. Wet performance has always been a success area for Goodyear and this test shows this once again.”
