Continental OE for VW ID.3

Volkswagen has chosen Continental tyres as original equipment for its ID.3.

The fully electric hatchback will be factory fitted with the EcoContact 6 summer tyre in 18 and 19 inch sizes. The WinterContact TS 850 P will be fitted for customers that opt for winter tyres.

Both the summer and winter tyres fitted to the ID.3 will feature Continental’s anti-puncture ContiSeal technology, which closes punctures with a diameter of up to 5mm.

As an EV, the ID.3 must run on tyres with low rolling resistance that save energy in order to deliver the maximum possible range between charges; with low tyre/road noise for passenger comfort; and with aerodynamic sidewall design to help minimise the vehicle’s aerodynamic drag.

Continental also supplies the on-board server that provides connectivity for Volkswagen’s electric ID. models.
