Continental, Nexen equipped to new Kia EV9

At the Irish press launch of the new Kia EV9 earlier this week, both models available were equipped with tyres from Continental and Nexen Tire.

The entry level ‘Earth’ model was fitted with 19 inch Nexen N’Fera Sport SUV tyres in size 255/60 R19, while the 21 inch wheels on the higher spec ‘GT-line’ were shod with the PremiumContact C tyre from Continental in size 285/45 R21.

The latter is said by Continental to benefit from low rolling resistance for greater eco-friendliness and high fuel efficiency, while the noise-breakers in the tread pattern allow for peaceful journeys. The tyre has been designed to be compatible with electric, hybrid and combustion engine vehicles.

Nexen Tire’s N’Fera Sport SUV is claimed to boast excellent handling performance in both dry and wet driving conditions, thanks to its wide out-side block design. The tyre’s wide longitudinal groove offers improved drainage performance, while its rigid centre block has been designed to provide improve control response and strengthen stability.

The Kia EV9 is the company’s first three-row electric flagship SUV and has just gone on sale in Ireland.
