BYD Seal U to roll on Continental

BYD has selected the Continental PremiumContact C as original equipment for its new Seal U Super Hybrid, which has just arrived in Ireland.

The new SUV will be fitted with size 235/50 R19 99V PremiumContact C (comfort) tyres from Continental, which are claimed to offer very quiet and energy efficient driving for vehicles such as the BYD Seal U.

Special silica in the rubber compound reduces energy absorption through the tyre while the vehicle is in motion and, in turn, reduces friction and rolling resistance. This leads to high energy efficiency and a long tread life. Noise breakers in the tread pattern and a noise-reducing design work together to significantly lower the rolling sounds of the tyre.

Thanks to a rounded contact patch that distributes the pressure evenly across the tyre, Continental says the PremiumContact C provides a low-impact ride even at high speeds.

For more than a decade now, Continental says its developers have been optimising tyres to achieve ever lower rolling resistance, low rolling noise and high mileage – without compromising on safety features. For example, all tyres from Continental meet the requirements of electric vehicles and at the same time are also able to sustainably reduce emissions from combustion vehicles.

In the Asia-Pacific region, the five most successful manufacturers of electric vehicles recently relied on Continental tyres for the original equipment of their vehicles.
