BKT Bhuj Plant awarded Sword of Honour 2025

BKT has reached another significant milestone in its global manufacturing journey, with its flagship Bhuj production facility in India being awarded the Sword of Honour 2025 by the British Safety Council.

The award was presented in December at a formal ceremony held at Drapers’ Hall in London, recognising BKT’s outstanding commitment to workplace health and safety management.

The Sword of Honour is one of the highest accolades awarded by the British Safety Council and is reserved for organisations that demonstrate exceptional standards in managing health and safety risks. In 2025, BKT was selected as one of only 70 organisations worldwide to receive this recognition.

BKT’s Bhuj plant achieved the award following a Five Star Audit Report, the highest possible rating under the British Safety Council’s health and safety management audit scheme.

According to BKT, this result “reflects the plant’s robust systems, consistent operational discipline, and the dedication of its workforce in maintaining a safe, healthy, and high-quality working environment”.

As part of the award, BKT received a hand-crafted stainless-steel ceremonial sword, created exclusively for the 2025 Sword of Honour recipients — a symbol of excellence, commitment, and leadership in workplace safety.

Commenting on the achievement, Peter McGettrick, chairman of the British Safety Council, praised BKT’s efforts, stating that achieving recognition of this level “requires full dedication and professionalism, adding that the organisation was proud to support companies demonstrating such high standards”.

Agrigear, the authorised distributor of BKT tyres in Ireland, said this achievement “reinforces the strength of the brand we represent”.

“High manufacturing standards, strong safety culture, and sustainable practices directly translate into product reliability, consistent quality, and long-term performance for customers in agriculture, construction, and earthmoving sectors,” Agrigear added.
