A new route For Bandvulc

As one of the largest independent UK truck tyre retreaders Bandvulc has been keeping trucks on the move for more than 40 years. The Group has now introduced a new range of bus tyres to its ever expanding product portfolio.

This new range is called the Citymaster and is currently available in two sizes, with further sizes to follow:
275/70R22.5 148/145J with an 18mm tread depth 4 groove design for double deckers and large singles 245/70R19.5 141/140J and 136/134L 16mm tread depth 3 groove design for Hoppa type buses

“Bandvulc’s new bus tyres went on display for the first time at this year’s Euro Bus Expo in November at the NEC. The bus market will be a new venture for us in 2015 and it was important that we showed these products to the industry prior any launch or trials. The event highlighted the diversity within this sector and has provided us with some initial feedback to assist our plans for 2015“, Phil West, Group Commercial Director.

Bandvulc’s expertise and reputation for quality tyres applies itself well to the bus market. With a world class UK factory producing circa 200,000 commercial retreads per year it produces more than 100 different patterns and sizes including specialist applications. The Group also develops bespoke compounds in-house for the sole use of its retreading operation.

All Bandvulc tyres conform to ECE Regulation 109 which means that performance, dimensions and markings are equal to those of a new tyre. Retreads are therefore a viable alternative for the bus market giving significant savings both financially and environmentally. For every commercial tyre Bandvulc retreads some 68 litres of oil, 44kg of rubber and 182.24kg CO2 are saved against a new tyre.

Counting amongst its customers major, blue chip logistics companies some 65% of all UK supermarket deliveries are delivered on Bandvulc tyres. Running in tandem with that is the fleet management side of the business, Bandvulc Plus+, which is entrusted by timed delivery operators to deliver in the most time-critical scenarios.

Bandvulc also operates a number of additional businesses providing a one-stop shop for customers, bespoke for their needs. Alongside Bandvulc Tyres, Bandvulc Mixing and Bandvulc Plus+ the Group has a new tyre offering via its tyre wholesale division BVF1rst and it also owns a tyre service provider, Tyre Maintenance Ltd, covering the UK.
