Hankook supports young talents on way to Formula 1
The FIA Formula 3 European Championship is the talent incubator in international motor racing. Formula 1 champions like Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton gained valuable experiences in the strongest international junior feeder series on their way up the career ladder.
Hankook is supporting these young “hot shots” for the fourth consecutive year with the optimised tyre types Ventus F200 (slick) and Ventus Z207 (rain tyre).
Benefiting from the collaboration with the premium manufacturer are the likes of Spaniard, Carlos Sainz Junior and Max Verstappen from the Netherlands, both of whom have made the leap into the top league of Formula 1.
Eleven rounds make up the calendar of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this season, with six of these races run as support to the DTM with Hankook as the exclusive partner. “
Sixteen of the 36-strong field are rookies who are keen to make life uncomfortable for the more seasoned drivers. Last season, we saw, with the overall winner Esteban Ocon und Max Verstappen, just how fast the newcomers are right off the mark,” said series manager Christoph Hewer.
