Yokohama completes acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has completed the acquisition of all outstanding shares of Trelleborg Wheel Systems Holding AB (TWS), from Trelleborg AB, which was previously announced on 25th March, 2022.

TWS is a Swedish company that manufactures off-highway tyres for agricultural and industrial machinery.

From the second quarter of fiscal 2023, Yokohama Rubber’s consolidated accounts will include TWS, with the estimated cost “currently under examination”.

Yokohama Rubber states that the TWS acquisition is part of its strategic initiatives to expand its OHT business, and believes that, among commercial tyres, OHT business is capable of “securing stably high earnings”.
