Trelleborg launches new XP1000 material handling tyre
Trelleborg looks to significantly improve material handling operations with the launch of its latest tyre solution for maximum intensity applications, the XP1000.
It claims the new tyre provides customers moving materials around ports, warehouses, and shop floors, with optimum traction and minimal vibration to bring greater comfort, increased safety, lower fuel consumption and a longer tyre life for more cost effective and sustainable operations.
Luca Sabelli, product manager material handling at Trelleborg Wheel Systems, said: “We have worked hard to make sure our tyres are ready for next generation material handling vehicles and the intense jobs they’re required to perform.
“We want to give our customers a high-performance tyre promising greater durability, more stability and comfort, while reducing the environmental impact – even when handling heavy duty jobs. The XP1000 tyre does all that – and more.”

According to Trelleborg, side-by-side performance comparison tests against competitive tyres show that the XP1000 tyre lasts up to nine per cent longer with 21 per cent improved endurance and offers a reported increase in comfort of up to 13 per cent.
Its three internal layers have also been designed for sustainable success; the lightweight tyre features an innovative fibre compound made using recycled materials, saving 866 tons per year on materials alone, while decreasing CO2 emissions by up to 110 tons per year, the tyre maker claims.
The XP1000 includes Trelleborg’s Pit Stop Line technology which lets operators know the right time to replace their tyres so they can get the most out of them and reduce waste.
Trelleborg states that the tyre also incorporates its easy to recognise, user-friendly labelling system to help customers select the right tyre for their operations according to application specific requirements and intensity, improving overall performance.
