Techplus hosts tyre repair training programme
Tech Plus, the workshop equipment and consumables specialists recently held a best practice tyre repair training programme, at it’s training facility in Dublin.
The training programme, which was delivered by Tech Europe’s Alan Bithell, was attended by 14 participants who enthusiastically under-took training seminars over two days, which included product information training and repair theory.
The training programme provided the opportunity for customers to successfully repair car, truck and agricultural tyres.
Key elements covered were:
Damage Recognition – Importance of initial inspection and procedures
Tyre Construction & marking – Understanding the function of component parts
Tyre Repair Standards – industry guidelines to safe tyre repairing
Use of vulcanising equipment – truck/agricultural / EM tyres injuries
Injury preparation – tread / shoulder/ sidewall
Skive techniques – Use of buffing mediums and associated air tools
Patch selection – Use of Radial / Bias repair charts
Patch Installation procedure- Tread/Shoulder/ Sidewall
Filling and curing – Installation of uncured rubber to prepared injuries
Finishing procedure and final inspection – Improving the final aspect of the repaired tyre
Rubber technology – Understanding vulcanisation / Hot Cure / Chemical Cure
