Sailun and Maxam join Port Equipment Manufacturers Association
Sailun Tyre Europe last month joined the Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) as an official member, focusing on its brand Maxam.
With this step, the world’s tenth-largest tyre manufacturer says it is strengthening its position as one of the leading suppliers of specialty tyres in logistics, material handling and port applications.

Under mainly the brand Maxam, the Sailun Group has a production capacity of 447,000 tons of specialty tyres annually – including logistics and heavy-duty applications in overseas ports around the world.
“Active membership in PEMA was a logical step that will help Sailun and Maxam to network even better with the leading players in the port industry and to align our specialty tyre development even more precisely with the technological requirements of this growth industry in the future,” explained Harry Wang, general manager Sailun Group Europe. “We look forward to new impetus and good contacts within the PEMA network.”
“We are delighted to welcome Sailun Group and the Maxam brand as our new member. For our network it is pivotal to constantly exchange, connect and work together. Port operations have become even more complex, faster and essential to global supply chains recently and this trend will continue. Reliable, professional and performance delivering partners like Maxam are key to our mutual success,” added Achim Dries, president of PEMA.
PEMA was founded in 2004 and brings together more than 125 market-leading companies that produce cranes, components, software, technologies and accessories for overseas port operations. It represents the interests of its member companies and facilitates open exchange between them in regular forums.
