Rob Henderson passes away

The death has occurred or Rob Henderson, 73, the long serving UK & Ireland tyre industry personality.

Rob retired just under two years ago in December 2020 after a successful and illustrious 50-year career working in management roles for a number of leading tyre companies around the world. He started at ATS in the North West of the UK before moving on to Tyre Factors followed by management positions with WS Tyremasters then Stapletons Tyre Services.

Rob’s growing experience within the industry then landed him the position of UK & European General Manager at Dubai based Al Dobowi Group promoting their Westlake and Infinity brands. In due course he moved on to Stamford Tyres in Singapore, again as International brand Manager for their Firenza brand.

Finally Rob spent the final seven years of his career with Chinese based Enjoy Tyre managing the company’s Rotalla and Routeway brands in the UK and Europe. He often commented that it was a pleasure to spend the last few years of his career with Enjoy and the support they gave him.

Over the five decades Rob was involved in the industry he built up a great deal of successful and enjoyable working relationships such was his easy going and sociable manner. Rob leaves behind his devoted wife Kathy, four daughters and five grandchildren.

The management and staff at the Tyre Trade Journal would like to extend their sincere sympathies to Rob’s wife Kathy, daughters Kirstie, Gayle, Melissa and Gemma, five grandchildren, extended family and friends on Rob’s sad passing.
