New distribution structure for Kings Road Tyres in Ireland

It is with regret that we have learned that Kings Road Tyres (KRT) is poised to close its dedicated warehouse, logistics and sales operation based on the John F Kennedy Industrial Estate in Dublin., which opened in 1998.

The company issued the following statement this morning:

Kings Road Tyres (KRT) has long recognised the importance of the Irish market to its business. Since 1998 it has operated a dedicated warehouse, logistics and sales operation based on the John F Kennedy Industrial Estate in Dublin.

Over that period of time, but especially in the last three years, trading conditions in the Irish market have changed significantly.

Regrettably, and after much consideration, this situation has led the company to make the difficult but necessary decision to close the KRT warehouse on the John F Kennedy Industrial Estate. This will take place by the end of March this year.

The company will however maintain a dedicated sales presence in Ireland; further details of the new structure will be announced in the near future.

Closure of the warehouse will result in the loss of a number of jobs, but KRT will work with all affected members of staff to assist them in preparing for and seeking alternative employment.

“Ireland will remain an important market for KRT and in future, customers will be supplied through a carefully appointed distributor who shares our customer commitment and service values,” explained KRT Group managing director Adrian Bader.

“We have many valued and long-standing business partners in Ireland and look forward to continuing to work closely with them to provide the same excellent levels of service that have been a hallmark of our operation for many years. The new arrangements are being finalised and will be shared with all customers when confirmed,” he added.
