Linglong to set up new R&D facility in Jinan

Chinese tyre maker Linglong Tire will set up a new research and development (R&D) facility in Jinan, the capital of the Shandong province in eastern China.

Linglong last month signed a cooperation agreement with the Jinan Municipal People’s Government to build its R&D and technological innovation base in the central district of Jinan.

The tyre maker says it has chosen Jinan in order to leverage the area’s large engineering skills base and convenient transport links.

Linglong says being located in Jinan will allow it to “rely on the global-oriented R&D science and innovation base, optimise the gathering of high-end science and innovation resources, promote upstream and downstream research and development of industry supply chains, and promote the development of regional big data as well as intelligent manufacturing”.

This new base will be the Linglong’s fifth site in China. It also has manufacturing facilities in Thailand and Serbia.
