Linglong and Geely partner on tyre technology development

Linglong Tire and Chinese automotive giant Geely have jointly established a new digital lab for tyre technology development.

Along with helping to further enhance the overall performance of Geely’s vehicles (such as Volvo and Lotus), the lab will also utilise tyre modelling software such as F-tyre, MF-tyre, and Virtual Tyre to simulate the tyre’s performance on real vehicles through computer simulations.

By employing virtual development and calibration of tyres, both companies say the new lab will significantly reduce the tyre matching project development cycle and lower associated costs.

Compared to traditional development methods, they say virtual development reduces development iterations, enhances individual tyre testing quality, and resolves the issue of prolonged tyre development cycles caused by imbalanced VD performance (steering control, ride comfort) and NVH performance.
