ITWRA urges retailers to contact local TDs with PRI concerns
The Irish Tyre Wholesalers and Retailers Association (ITWRA) is urging all tyre retailers to contact their local TD, ahead of the General Election to voice their concerns over the impending full PRI.
The ITWRA is urging retailers to register with their Local Authority in order to remain compliant with current legislation.
The Association says registration is simple, and that it will advise any retailer having difficulties registering.
In a statement issued this week the ITWRA says that retailers that join Repak ELT “are agreeing to collecting large levies from the public and allowing distortion in our industry.”
The ITWRA continued: “Our position is clear, we are against a full PRI either front loaded and more especially back loaded as this just passes the responsibility to the retailers. We are also concerned for our waste collectors that have served the industry well as they will lose out in this proposed monopoly scheme.”
