The Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) is now taking bookings for its upcoming series of training courses.
The ITIA offers a diverse range of courses designed to cater to both experienced professionals and newcomers to the industry. This presents an excellent opportunity for tyre and motor companies looking to invest in the career growth of their staff.

ITIA Tyre Technician Training Programme
This programme will provide training for those joining a tyre business. For those that are already employed in the industry it will provide formal training and an introduction to new technologies such as TPMS, ADAS and working with electric vehicles. This course takes place in two-day blocks over three weeks.
Course dates: September: 4th/5th/11th/12th/18th/19th
Location: Athlone Training Centre, Co Westmeath

ITIA Tyre and Motor Parts Servicing Traineeship
This course will provide participants with a QQI Level 4 qualification. The ITIA Tyre & Motor Parts servicing Traineeship has been designed by the industry to train learners to perform, under supervision, a specified range of motor vehicle maintenance functions and to provide good customer care.
Participants complete 12 weeks training and six weeks work experience, ensuring that they are industry ready, and they will be able to obtain employment in any of the following areas:
- Tyre Fitter
- Motor Mechanic Technician
- Auto Parts Sales Advisor
- Pre- NCT Auto Service
If you identify a suitable candidate coming into your business or someone already employed with you, you can place them on the course and the work experience will be back at your business. The ITIA also endeavour to connect participants looking for work experience with ITIA member companies. This will be at no cost to the company.

REACT – Roadside Emergency Action Concerning Technicians
This course is suitable for anyone who attends breakdown situations on motorways, dual carriageways and trunk roads and is aimed at truck and light vehicle technicians working on the roadside.
The course is run over one day and includes both theory and practical demonstration. All participants then take a written exam to pass the programme. An industry accreditation is awarded which will offer peace of mind to employers and customers that the technician is aware of safe practices when working on roadside breakdowns.
Participants will also receive a copy of the ITIA – Service Vehicle and Safe Work Practices/Risk Assessments Guide and Vehicle Walkaround Checklist.
