ITIA licensing update

Licensed retail outlet signs are going up all around the country, as Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) members receive licenses for their retail premises. The scheme was initiated to give tyre retailers a chance to highlight to the motoring public that they place safety at the core of their business.

To date 74 ITIA member outlets have now been granted a license. Licensed outlets sign up to work to industry best practice in tyre repairs. They must also undertake not to be involved in the distribution or sale of part worn tyres.

The License programme was initiated following a call from retail members for regulation in this sector. The programme will ensure that all licensing criteria will remain relevant with the core focus on safety and servicing.
