GS Yuasa partners with IMI to future-proof battery training
GS Yuasa has confirmed its new partnership with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), to help the automotive industry “future-proof” its skills at both individual and organisational levels.
The collaboration will include working together on technical content, joint promotion, skills development activities and education in vocational skills.
As an IMI accredited trainer, GS Yuasa is known for delivering industry leading face-to-face training, as well as online learning at academy.gs-yuasa.eu.
It says the new partnership will further solidify its mission of putting technicians and distributors at the heart of what it does and actively helping them to grow their battery business through increased training and technical knowledge.

Ian Newham, training manager at GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK, said: “As an IMI accredited provider, we’ve worked closely with the organisation to make sure our training is of the highest possible level.
“Our award-winning online training platform academy.gs-yuasa.eu is the first and only online battery training platform of its kind and has been widely welcomed by learners who are able to obtain IMI membership upon completion of the courses.”
Steve Nash, chief executive of the IMI, added: “With so much focus on battery technology, both in conventional combustion engine and electric vehicles, there is no question that this area of the automotive sector has a real demand for expert skills.
“We are, therefore, extremely pleased to be enhancing the partnership between the IMI and GS Yuasa to ensure professionals can access the training and accreditation they need.
“The partnership between GS Yuasa and the IMI represents a new era of cooperation between two industry-leading organisations, both committed to providing high-quality training and support to the automotive industry.”
