Goodyear managing tyre supply for Tip Group’s 12,000-strong southern Europe fleet
Following the recent announcement of the contract extension between TIP Group and Goodyear, TIP continues to trust Goodyear for the supply of its trailer and truck tyres, as well as related services.
The goal remains to ensure maximum fleet availability, optimise tyre performance, and minimise unexpected breakdowns, while reducing its carbon footprint.
In southern Europe, the Goodyear solutions, deployed by TIP with a dual objective of economic and environmental performance, have enabled the company to increase by 50 per cent its retreading rate and reduce tyre-related CO₂ emissions by 15 per cent over the past three years.
France, the pilot country, used its diversified fleet and systematic data analysis to establish best practices for Spain and Italy.

Spain achieved significant CO₂ emissions reduction while serving as the E-Job digital pilot for the entire region. Italy, with its high-volume vehicle and refurbishment requirements, benefits from a solution specifically tailored to ensure scalable and efficient operations.
With a diversified owned fleet of nearly 12,000 vehicles in the region—semi-trailers, tankers, electric vehicles, and vehicles dedicated to environmental and sanitation markets—plus 3,300 vehicles under management contracts, TIP faced critical challenges.
The impact of inflation on the tyre budget, insufficient retreading rates relative to its objectives, non-homogeneous tyre stocks across the Goodyear service provider network, tracking discrepancies between countries, and the need for continuous improvement to reduce the number of incidents impacting safety, reliability and operational efficiency.
TIP’s objectives were clear: optimise tyre management to simultaneously control costs, carbon impact, and the fleet’s environmental footprint, while ensuring vehicle safety and availability.
Daniel Gaspar, maintenance leader South Europe Region TIP Group states: “Our partnership with Goodyear perfectly illustrates our commitment to sustainable performance. By combining operational excellence and environmental responsibility, we demonstrate that it is possible to reduce our costs while decreasing our carbon footprint, with no compromise on road user’s safety.
“This solid collaboration, based on trust and mutual listening, enables us to offer our customers superior service quality while respecting our CSR commitments and the specificities of each country.”
Stefano Sgambati, head of fleet mobility sales Europe South Goodyear Commercial adds: “This strengthened partnership with TIP Group demonstrates the value of our customer-centric approach and our commitment to sustainable mobility.
“By working hand in hand with TIP teams, we have developed a tailored solution that addresses their operational challenges while significantly contributing to their environmental objectives. The results obtained prove that economic performance and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.”
