Draft proposal of EMC fees for all categories of tyres

An updated Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Scheme for Ireland, as revealed exclusively last week on TyreTrade.ie, will be announced soon by Government, and in it, will include environmental management costs (EMCs) for truck/bus tyres, agricultural, construction and industrial tyres as well as solid and earthmover tyres, for the first time.

At the moment, EMCs only apply to car, van, 4×4 and motorcycle tyres, with costs ranging from €1.50 to €2.80 before VAT, per tyre.
