Agrigear ploughs ahead

At this year’s Ploughing Championships, Agrigear Tyre and Wheel Specialists exhibited over 140 wheels and tyres on its 720sq.m. stand.

The vast display of tyres represented options for a variety of agricultural machine types including tractors, tankers, trailers, loaders, diggers, grass machinery and quad bikes.

In addition a range of rowcrop wheels, wide wheels, loader wheels and dual wheel options were also on display, representing examples of the wheel rim manufacturing and modi cation capabilities and services offered by Agrigear.

One of the machines on display was the Volvo L120H loader fitted with 900/60R32 Agrimax Teris tyres on bespoke 30X32 fixed rims manufactured by Agrigear. Owned by John O’Flynn Agri Contractors based in Co. Cork, this mighty machine with its wider wheels attracted plenty of attention.

Also on display was a Case Puma 165 tractor on the stand showcasing two different options for BKT high-performance Agrimax radial tyres. One side of the tractor was fitted with VF tyres (BKT Agrimax V-Flecto) in sizes VF900/50R42 + VF710/55R30; VF tyres signifies very high flexion tyres.

The other side of the tractor was fitted with IF tyres (BKT Agrimax Force) in sizes IF710/60R42 + IF600/60R30; IF tyres signifies increased flexion tyres.

Fred Clarke, managing director of Agrigear acknowledged that it was great to be back again at The Ploughing Championships.

“The Ploughing is always a key event in our business calendar,” he said.

“It is a great opportunity to bring the BKT tyres and Agrigear wheels here where the end user can see them and ask us more about them.

“People are coming from all over the country and we can then line them up with their nearest BKT tyre stockist in their own locality.”

Clarke added: “We always do our best to offer solutions and options to farmers and contractors who are seeking technical advice for their tyre and wheel requirements.

“After a couple of years with no Ploughing Championships, it has been a great event here again this year, we’ve had a busy few days with plenty of enquiries to follow up on.”
