ContiSportContact 5 has sporty ambitions

Continental’s new ContiSportContact 5 is suitable for high performance sport cars and for SUVs with sporty ambitions. When compared with its popular predecessor, this new product reflects the substantial progress made by the tyre engineers – thanks to extensive research and tests carried out during the development period, braking distances on both wet and dry roads have been markedly reduced, whilst rolling resistance has been cut by over 10% and mileage performance increased by 13%.

The ContiSportContact 5 uses a new rubber formula, referred to as BlackChilli Compound, which enables maximum transmission of forces when braking. Improvements have also been achieved in the handling of the tyre, which can now deliver an even sportier performance than the previous model.

This new sports model will be available in select sizes between 17” and 18” with a full range available by 2012. The range also includes popular SUV sizes. These are vehicles mainly used on roads where drivers require great handling performance, low noise and low rolling resistance.
