Mitas to deliver premium tyres for CNHI Saskatoon plant in Canada

Mitas Tires North America has signed a long-term agreement with CNH Industrial’s NAFTA group for the delivery of Mitas Premium agricultural tyre and GKN wheel assemblies for their new Air Cart models produced at their Saskatoon plant in Canada.

Mitas will source, mount and deliver the complete wheel assembly from its plant in Charles City, Iowa. Mitas will deliver tyres in six different tread designs and eight dimensions and various wheels and colours to support CNH’s new Air Cart product offering.

The key size that will comprise a significant volume of these assemblies is the Mitas 800/70R38 178D/181A8 CHO SFT, which weighs almost 680 kg between tyre and wheel components. The Mitas CHO (Cyclic Harvesting Operation) solves the increasing need for soil protection.

Compared with a standard tyre, the CHO tyre provides much more load capacity at lower inflation pressure. For example, the 800/70 R 32 CHO provides an advantage of up to 31% reduction in inflation pressure at the same load compared to the standard tyre. This lower inflation pressure results in the larger footprint of up to 24%.
