Kumho unveils new all-season tyre
In the passenger car tyre replacement market in Europe all season tyres have become increasingly important in recent years. Potential reasons for this could be population growth in the urban areas or mild winter months.
The introduction of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems will contribute in the future to more and more consumers using all-season tyres. According to market data one in ten tyres which was sold to end consumers last year in Germany, was an all-season tyre.
Following this trend, many tyre manufacturers have introduced new all-season tyres on the market in the recent years.
With the Solus KH21 Four, Kumho has many years of experience in this segment, and has introduced its latest generation of all-season tyres on the European market last year.
The Solus HA31, replacing the Solus Vier KH21, has both the snowflake symbol (3PMSF) and M + S marking. The 3D sipes in the tread ensure excellent winter properties and thus provide safety on snowy roads.
The reinforced central block also enables an excellent braking performance. The special features of this all-season tyre were based on extensive field studies in Germany with dealers and end consumers. Both groups were asked in 2012 to present their requirements on a tyre for modern traffic. The result of this was incorporated in the development of Solus HA31 by Kumho’s R&D team.
The new Solus HA31 is already available in more than 40 size dimensions, from 13 to 17 inch sizes and the range of sizes is to be expanded.
