Continental gets Porsche approval

Continental’s winter tyre, the ContiWinterContact TS 830 P has ben approved as an optional fitment on the new Porsche Boxster, new Cayman, the 911 Carrera, and the 911 Carrera 4 (Types 981 and 991).

Porsche has approved the ContiWinterContact TS 830 P, for the four sports car models. For the new Boxster and Cayman, size 235/40 R 19 will be mounted on the front and size 265/40 R 19 on the rear. The tyre size 235/40 R 19 is also to be used on the front axle of the 911 Carrera, with size 285/35 R 19 on the rear axle. Tyres for the rear axle of the 911 Carrera 4 (Type 991) are wider, with a tyre size of 295/35 R 19. All winter tyres bearing the OE mark “N0” on the sidewalls are approved for speeds of up to 240 km/h to allow for sporty driving on dry roads in winter as well.

The ContiWinterContact TS 830 P is designed for particularly powerful, sporty vehicles. In trade journal ratings, the tyre was this year’s test winner in sportauto (Issue 25/2012) and in Auto Zeitung (Issue 25/2012).

Also manufactured in special sizes for powerfully engined 4×4 vehicles, such as the Porsche Cayenne, the tyre also topped the AutoBild allrad test (Issue 11/2012), receiving a rating of “vorBildlich”.
