RSA to make submission on part worn tyres
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is expected to make a submission to the Department of Transport on the issue of part worn tyres in the coming months following a public consultation with stakeholders, which concluded before Christmas.
A public consultation to seek the views of members of the public, industry and other interested parties on policy options available for part-worn tyres concluded on December.
A spokesman for the RSA has confirmed it received in the region of 100 submissions and that it is now collating the information included in these submissions.
The spokesman confirmed that the submissions covered a broad spectrum of opinions from those in favour of the sale of part worn tyres to those against.
The RSA will bring its submission to the Department of Transport in the coming months.
