All roads to lead to new TIRE COLOGNE Show


It’s great news that preparations for the new ‘TIRE COLOGNE 2018’ exhibition are rolling full speed ahead toward the premiere in May, 2018. The organisers tell us that nearly all key players in the industry are already on board for 2018 since last May, in the context of the ‘We’ll be there!’ campaign. They have also confirmed that the list of participants has grown considerably in the ten months since.

“Our strategic approach of positioning the tyre industry even more strongly in an international context and pointing out new growth potential for the themes of automotive services and online commerce is gaining traction.” Katharina C. Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, told the Tyre Trade Journal.

She added: “Many companies relevant for the market have already decided today in favour of the Cologne location and the Tire Cologne exhibition. Confirmations have long since been received from Goodyear Dunlop, Michelin and Pirelli, and the application from Continental has also recently arrived”.

Nearly all important key players have already submitted firm applications for the event from 29 May to 1 June 2018 and booked more than 10,000 m² of exhibition space.

Among others, the tyre manufacturers Aeolus Tyres, BKT, Kumho Tyre, Maxam, Nexen Tire, Obo Tyres, Techking, Yokohama and the association of automobile tuners (VDAT) have announced their participation.

In the rims segment, for example, the manufacturers Alcar, Autec, AVG, BBS, Brock, Ronal Group or Uniwheels are represented.

Schrader or Rema TipTop have also confirmed their participation in the workshop services section.

The company Kraiburg is exemplary of the tyre branch. In addition to others, the tyre trade is represented by the manufacturers Bohnenkamp, Euromaster, Heuver, GDHS, Interpneu, Point S, Tyre 1, Tyre24.com and tyremotive. the Tire Cologne team is now beginning to structure the individual halls and the layout planning process. In addition to preferred positioning, an early application for the trade fair means planning security and related increased economic efficiency.

The Tire Cologne will be located in the Northern Halls of KoelnMesse. The tyre manufacturers, wholesalers and rim manufacturers will be hosted in halls 6 and 7. The themes of automotive services and workshop needs will be concentrated in hall 8. Hall 9 is home to the tyre remoulding segment, and to the recycling and disposal of old tyres. In addition to the exhibitor presentations, visitors can also look forward to extensive supporting and show programmes, which will take place in the outdoor space on the north side of hall 8 and between halls 6 and 7.

The Tire Cologne team is carrying out international marketing activities throughout the world. Thus, for example, visits to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas and the Tyrexpo Africa Johannesburg were on the programme very recently. The next stop is Tires & Rubber in Moscow/Russia. The objective of discussions is to increase the visibility and recognition of The Tire Cologne in these markets and to generate additional contacts and multipliers.
