<\/p>\nLeading Michelin Clio Cup Race Series squad Finesse Motorsport will enter at least two cars for next weekend\u2019s penultimate rounds of the season at the team\u2019s home track, Snetterton in Norfolk, after officially confirming car racing rookie Ben Davis (Much Marcle) alongside Pete Bennett (Blundeston).<\/p>\n
Herefordshire 21-year-old Davis, who is currently in the midst of a gap year from his studies as a law student, is to make his saloon car debut during rounds nine and 10 of the season with Finesse and the squad is also working on a potential deal to field a third Clio in the Race Series 10 days from now.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re really looking forward to giving Ben his debut next weekend, he should go well\u201d, said Neil Giddings, team principal of the Wisbech-based squad, \u201cHe\u2019s been in the background all season, coming along to the races and supporting Pete [Bennett] who he knows from Superkarts.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did a little bit of testing with us, had some coaching from Jake [Giddings \u2013 former Renault UK Clio Cup racer] and then got the bug. He\u2019s only had a couple of days in the car but I\u2019m confident he\u2019ll do a good job. There is a chance we may run three cars next weekend, we\u2019re still working on that, and we\u2019re more than happy to hear from any other drivers considering racing in the Clios.\u201d<\/p>\n
Davis, who will be entered under the Finesse Motorsport Ltd with TECS Distribution Ltd banner, began racing competitively in 2007 in the Castle Combe Junior Karting Series. Competing in Junior TKM the following season at club level, Davis soon made the step into Superkarts where he was named Best British Superkart Newcomer in 2010 after winning the BSA Clubman Challenge.<\/p>\n
Becoming Vice-Champion of the MSA British Superkart Championship\u2019s UK Cup the following year, he was second again in the UK Cup in 2012 \u2013 fourth overall \u2013 and then fifth overall in the British Superkarts in 2013. Eyeing graduation to cars for this year the youngster entered, and was a finalist in, the Team HARD VW Cup Scholarship before turning his attention to Renault Clios.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am delighted to have got the deal in place to make my debut in the Michelin Clio Cup Race Series next weekend\u201d, said Davis, \u201cThere\u2019s a lot to learn coming from racing 140mph Superkarts, but Pete [Bennett], Neil and Jake [Giddings], and the rest of the guys at Finesse, have helped me out a lot and I hope to be not too far off the pace at Snetterton.<\/p>\n

Michelin Clio Cup Race Series will, for the first time, benefit from live television coverage next weekend when the opening day of the Snetterton race meeting, Saturday, 30th August, features as the latest of the \u2018Live Raceday\u2019 broadcasts on Motors TV.<\/p>\n
