Mitas managed to build an entire new plant in less than a year. The total investment was about \u20ac39.8 million, which includes construction, transfer and modernisation of the production technology. The new Mitas plant in Otrokovice now produces Mitas- and Continental-branded tyres with a production capacity of 42,000 tonnes a year.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe managed to build this new plant, which is the most advanced of all Mitas production facilities, in under 12 months,\u201d said Josef K\u0159eme\u010dek, Otrokovice and Zl\u00edn plant director. \u201cMitas is committed to using the best available technology, and this makes the new plant one of the most advanced in the world in manufacturing agricultural radial rear tyres,\u201c added Josef K\u0159eme\u010dek.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of the new facility started on 7 August 2012. By the end of May 2013, the construction of the production hall was complete, and on 2 July 2013, we cured the first tyre there. In less than a year Mitas managed to move all of the tyre production from its previous facility at the Continental Barum industrial park to the new location near the TOMA industrial park. Mitas had to move all of its tyre production from the existing Otrokovice production hall, which it had rented for a limited time from Continental since 2004, when Mitas acquired the agricultural tyre division from Continental. The complete work force was moved to the new facility. The newly opened plant makes radial agricultural tyres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new plant in Otrokovice has reached full production, and Mitas\u2019 North American factory already has the capacity to produce at full steam. Mitas is now ready to win on worldwide markets with top-quality and durable tyres made at the most advanced tyre factories in the world,\u201d said Jaroslav \u010cechura, Mitas\u2019 CEO. \u201cThanks to close cooperation and investments made in our other plants, we were able to optimise production capacity so the deliveries to our business partners during the process of transition were not affected,\u201d added Jaroslav \u010cechura.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mitas&#8217; new plant in Otrokovice, Czech Republic, has started producing tyres at full capacity.
