Pirelli has upgraded its truck section on its company website to include information on the new European label legislation and Cyber Fleet.<\/p>\n
The Pirelli website acts as the main information source for the various products, as well as briefing consumers on tyres suitable for vehicles that range from high performance cars to trucks and motorcycles. The website also includes the latest company news, updates on Pirelli\u2019s motorsport programmes and information on the P Zero clothing range.<\/p>\n
Several upgrades have been made to the online truck website including a new section about labelling. Tyre labelling is part of new European Union legislation that will take effect from November 2012, and allows customers to make more informed choices when purchasing tyres. Each tyre produced in the EU after June 2012 will feature a label with information relating to the product\u2019s rolling resistance, wet grip and noise emission.<\/p>\n
The updated website also includes a section about the new Cyber Fleet: the system that transmits tyre data in real time to drivers and fleet managers using electronic sensors and telemetry. The results of these tests were exclusively revealed at the Essen tyre show earlier this month.<\/p>\n
Pirelli UK Managing Director, Dominic Sandivasci, said: \u201cLast month our web team created an interactive platform on the Pirelli homepage about the new EU labelling laws, and we felt it was time to add information to the truck section of the website too.
