{"id":5297,"date":"2013-07-25T12:56:13","date_gmt":"2013-07-25T11:56:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=5297"},"modified":"2013-07-29T14:20:51","modified_gmt":"2013-07-29T13:20:51","slug":"pirelli-to-sponsor-iconic-porsche-911-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/pirelli-to-sponsor-iconic-porsche-911-parade\/5297","title":{"rendered":"Pirelli to sponsor iconic Porsche 911 parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pirelli \u2013 the official tyre supplier to Formula One \u2013 will attend this weekend\u2019s Silverstone Classic to sponsor an iconic Porsche 911 parade which will take place at the home of the British Grand Prix.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Now in its 23rd year, the Silverstone Classic is the world\u2019s biggest classic motor racing festival which attracts motorsport fans and enthusiasts from across the world. This year\u2019s event will be centred round the golden anniversary of the Porsche 911. The 911 was introduced to the public at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, and to mark the golden anniversary, a convoy of 911 Porsche 911s will take to the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit on Sunday 28 July. Each car that takes place in the parade will be given a special plaque from Pirelli to commemorate the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Pirelli signed a minimum three-year deal to sponsor Porsche Club Great Britain. As part of the new agreement, Pirelli financially supports Porsche Club GB, as well as providing the Club with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findatyre.ie\/\">tyres<\/a> and on-event technical expertise. The agreement also meant Pirelli became the official tyre supplier to the increasingly popular Porsche Club Championship, a 16-race series specifically designed for production-based Porsches.<\/p>\n<p>As well as sponsoring the Porsche 911 parade, Pirelli will also bring its F1 simulator and hospitality unit along to the annual three-day event.
