Just prior to the race, he had met up with Armagh motorcyclist, David Hoy, winner of the Bridgestone \u2018Mission Rossi\u2019 tyre sales competition. \u201cValentino was such a nice, genuine, gentleman. I\u2019m not sure if it was a case of the luck of the Irish when he won, but I wished him all the best and told him I\u2019d be cheering for him!\u201d Hoy says.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5126\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5126\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/armagh-biker-spurs-rossi-to-a-win\/5125\/rossi_meet_assen05\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5126\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5126\" alt=\"David Hoy and Philip Headley pictured with Valentino Rossi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/rossi_meet_assen05.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/rossi_meet_assen05.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/rossi_meet_assen05-120x80.jpg 120w, https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/rossi_meet_assen05-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5126\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">David Hoy and Philip Headley pictured with Valentino Rossi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>David beat thousands of bikers across Europe to win Bridgestone\u2019s \u2018Mission Rossi\u2019 tyre sales competition and flew out to Assen to meet nine-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi.\u00a0 He said that meeting the legend beforehand was a dream come true.\u00a0 \u201cIt was unbelievable and something that I have never experienced before or will ever experience again. I can\u2019t describe what it was like to meet a living legend and someone who I\u2019ve watched for so many years. I must say a massive thank you to all at Bridgestone who made this meeting possible and for a great weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>David, aged 46, won the money-can\u2019t-buy experience after purchasing a set of Battlax Sport Touring T30 tyres from his local tyre provider, G M Tyres, after which he was automatically entered into the Mission Rossi giveaway.<\/p>\n<p>G M Tyres centre manager Philip Headley accompanied David on his adventure, and Bridgestone\u2019s tyre sales manager Andrew Whitehead said, \u201cWe couldn\u2019t have chosen a better winner had we tried. It was a pleasure to see David enjoying the experience so much.
