<\/p>\nPrometeon Tyre Group has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, covering all areas of the organisation and structured around four pillars \u2013 environmental, social, governance and economic.<\/p>\n
It said the report demonstrates how sustainability objectives have become an integral part of the company\u2019s operations and strategic decision-making.<\/p>\n
Steve Tift, managing director UK and Ireland at Prometeon Tyre Group, said: \u201cSustainability is increasingly important for fleets, but it has to go hand in hand with operational performance.<\/p>\n
“Operators need tyres that deliver mileage, durability and retreadability, helping them reduce waste, control costs and support their own environmental goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cPrometeon\u2019s 2025 Sustainability Report demonstrates the tangible progress being made across the Group, particularly around renewable and high-efficiency energy use and the increased use of recycled materials.”<\/p>\n
Tift added that the company’s focus remains on helping operators across the UK and Ireland choose the right tyres for the right applications and manage them effectively throughout their full life.<\/p>\n

Cleaner energy use supports net zero pathway<\/strong><\/p>\n In 2025 renewable and high-efficiency sources accounted for 51.5 per cent of the group\u2019s total energy consumption. Some 31.3 per cent of the energy came from renewable sources \u2013 certified green electricity and biomass \u2013 while the remaining 20.2 per cent was generated by high-efficiency energy systems such as combined heat and power (CHP) plants.<\/p>\n Looking at electricity consumption alone, renewable energy accounted for 47.5 per cent. The electricity powering the Milan headquarters and the Cinisello Balsamo R&D Centre was entirely covered by renewable energy certificates and partially self-generated through a new 116 kWp photovoltaic plant. The Gravata\u00ed production plant in Brazil remains carbon neutral for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, thanks to renewable energy certificates and a biomass boiler used to generate process steam.<\/p>\n The company continues to pursue a clear and ambitious long-term goal: to achieve climate neutrality by 2040, through a pathway aligned with the 1.5\u00b0C target established by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).<\/p>\n Prometeon remains committed to this path, even amid an international context where climate commitments are increasingly being challenged at a political level. In 2025, the Group\u2019s specific energy consumption \u2013 measured per tonne of finished product \u2013 decreased by 14.7 per cent compared to 2016, the year the Company was established, confirming the increasing efficiency of its production processes.<\/p>\n Progress on recycled and certified materials<\/strong><\/p>\n Significant progress has also been made in terms of materials. Recycled materials used in production reached approximately seven per cent, driven by an increased use of recycled steel, the introduction of silica derived from rice husk ash, and the use of carbon black produced from pyrolysis oil obtained from end-of-life tyres. Since 1st January 2025, every Coach C02 tyre in size 295\/80R22.5 produced at Prometeon\u2019s Turkish plant has contained 23 per cent ISCC+ certified materials by weight, calculated using the mass balance approach. ISCC Plus is a voluntary certification scheme applicable to the bio-economy and circular economy, which verifies the traceability and sustainability of the raw materials used.<\/p>\n In 2025, Prometeon participated in the CDP assessment \u2013 the world\u2019s leading independent environmental reporting platform \u2013 achieving a score of B in the Climate Change questionnaire and B- in the Water Security questionnaire. This result places the Group at the Management level of the CDP scoring scale, which recognises organisations capable of managing environmental challenges in a structured and measurable way.<\/p>\n Supplier audits support responsible supply chain strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n The supply chain is a key pillar of the Group\u2019s sustainability strategy. In 2025, Prometeon conducted 21 audits at raw material suppliers, covering 18 per cent of its annual expenditure in this area. These audits assess compliance with social standards on issues such as child labour, forced labour, health and safety, working hours, and freedom of association.
