Kerr\u2019s Tyres Group has announced the acquisition of Scottish car maintenance and servicing business, Farmer Autocare.<\/p>\n

Founded by Sir Tom Farmer in 2003, Farmer Autocare now operates 21 sites across Scotland, employing almost 200 people.<\/p>\n

Farmer Autocare will continue to operate in Scotland under its existing management team, led by managing director, Colin McNeill.<\/p>\n

Belfast-based Kerr\u2019s Tyres Group said it plans to expand to 250 sites throughout the UK over the next five years.<\/p>\n

Backed by its investors Chiltern Capital, the group said this expansion will be achieved by acquiring “industry leading businesses, like Farmer Autocare, to create a national chain of centres”.<\/p>\n

Colin McNeill, managing director of Farmer Autocare, said the acquisition “creates tremendous opportunities for our people”.<\/p>\n
