Also keep a shovel in your boot, just in case<\/li>\n<li>Keep your phone fully charged and carry an in-car charger<\/li>\n<li>Fit winter tyres, or if you don\u2019t, have your summer tyres checked before winter descends<\/li>\n<li>Check your battery \u2013 in cold weather batteries are under extra pressure and are more likely to fail<\/li>\n<li>Keep your windscreen washer fluid topped-up as your windscreen will get dirtier in the winter<\/li>\n<li>Check your coolant \u2013 antifreeze protects your engine against low temperatures<\/li>\n<li>Adjust your driving style to the conditions and reduce your speed.
