An updated Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Scheme for Ireland, as revealed exclusively last week<\/a> on TyreTrade.ie, will be announced soon by Government, and in it, will include environmental management costs (EMCs) for truck\/bus tyres, agricultural, construction and industrial tyres as well as solid and earthmover tyres, for the first time.<\/p>\n

At the moment, EMCs only apply to car, van, 4×4 and motorcycle tyres, with costs ranging from \u20ac1.50 to \u20ac2.80 before VAT, per tyre.<\/p>\n

The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment has now published its draft proposal of EMCs for all categories of tyres, with a full cost-per-weight breakdown included:<\/p>\n
