{"id":4019,"date":"2013-04-04T13:55:54","date_gmt":"2013-04-04T12:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=4019"},"modified":"2013-04-04T14:03:39","modified_gmt":"2013-04-04T13:03:39","slug":"avon-launches-storm-3d-x-m-tyre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/avon-launches-storm-3d-x-m-tyre\/4019","title":{"rendered":"Avon launches Storm 3D X-M tyre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Avon Tyres has launched its Storm 3D X-M &#8211; a sports-touring tyre that combines the performance of the Storm 3D Ultra tyre with the increased longevity demanded by those who use their bikes for business as well as pleasure.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nMade in Britain and aimed at the hypersport motorcycle market, the Avon Storm 3D X-M is a new derivative of the immensely popular Avon Storm Ultra sports-touring tyre. The new tyre takes the unique technology found in the 3D Ultra sports tyre family and uses it to create a sports-touring tyre which also delivers higher mileage.<\/p>\n<p>The Storm 3D X-M features interlocking three-dimensional points hidden in the tyre\u2019s smallest grooves, which improve stability, grip and warm-up times, while limiting tread flex. These latest advances in tyre technology are married to a high-performance single and multi-compound silica-rich tread which enhances wet grip.<\/p>\n<p>The Storm 3D X-M gives superb handling and stability characteristics which are essential on today\u2019s hyperbikes, such as the Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa, Kawasaki GTR1400 and Kawasaki ZZR1400. It can also transform the performance of older model hyperbikes, such as BMW\u2019s K1300 series and Honda\u2019s Super Blackbird.<\/p>\n<p>Doug Ross, Head of Global Motorcycle Tyre Sales for Avon Tyres, said, \u201cWith the Storm 3D X-M we\u2019ve taken what was already a great tyre and built in around 15-20% of extra longevity through increased tread life. While we expect this to be most popular in the US &#8211; where motorcycle mileage tends to be higher \u2013 there\u2019s an increasing number of bikers in Europe clocking up higher mileages while touring or commuting, who want a tyre that lasts without sacrificing performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Avon Storm 3D X-M is available from April, in sizes 120\/70-ZR17 (front) and 180\/55-ZR17 and 190\/50-ZR17 (rear).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Avon Tyres has launched its Storm 3D X-M &#8211;
