<\/p>\nAs a leading manufacturer of timber products since 1913, Glennon Brothers supplies both the Ireland and UK markets with a wide range of timber solutions \u2014 from kiln-dried, strength-graded carcassing to pallet wood, Canadian Lumber Standard (CLS), and machined whitewoods for the construction and garden shed industries.<\/p>\n
With operations spanning a 65-acre main site in Fermoy, Co Cork and additional locations in Longford and the UK, its logistics are intensive and non-stop. The business operates 13 forklifts and loading vehicles across multiple shifts and sites, moving vast quantities of produce daily. In such a demanding environment, tyre performance is vital to achieving maximum efficiency.<\/p>\n

Before partnering with Continental, the business faced ongoing issues with tyre durability, due to lesser-known brands wearing out quickly, translating to frequent downtime and costly delays.<\/p>\n
That all changed in 2023, when Continental and ITS (Industrial Tyre Specialists) visited its Fermoy site and introduced Glennon to Continental\u2019s range of solid and earthmover tyres. The promise of “longer-wearing tyres and greater comfort for heavy-duty use” immediately resonated with the needs of the operational team at Glennon.<\/p>\n
The tyres stood out for their robust design, with Glennon saying their performance subsequently exceeded expectations \u2013 achieving more than double the lifespan of its previous tyres.<\/p>\n
Since making the switch to Continental tyres, Glennon claims to have seen a 50 per cent reduction in downtime.<\/p>\n
